DMALL POWERS 87-STORE SYSTEM ROLLOUT FOR COLD STORAGE, LAYING THE FOUNDATION FOR AI NEXT PHASE
Singapore, 30 April 2026-Cold Storage Singapore has completed the rollout of an integrated retail operating system across its 87-store network within seven months, marking one of the larger-scale system transformations in Singapore's supermarket sector.
The rollout was delivered in partnership with DMALL, a China-based retail technology company with close to 600 retail clients globally. Its platform has been developed through large-scale deployments in China's highly competitive retail market, including long-standing collaborations with major retail groups such as Wumart and Metro China.
Full deployment across all stores was completed within 17 days following pilot phases. The implementation involved 117 system modules and integration with 14 external systems, covering Cold Storage's multibrand network including Cold Storage, CS Fresh, Giant and Jasons Deli.
The speed and scale of the rollout refect DMALL's experience in managing complex, high-volume retail environments in China, where system integration and operational execution are carried out at significant scale.
The project consolidated multiple legacy systems across ERP, store operations, point of sale and supply chain into a single, unified platform. This enables more consistent coordination across the supply chain, merchandising and store execution and establishes a connected operating model across the network.
The programme focused on establishing a stable and integrated operating foundation. The first phase connected core retail functions across the supply chain, merchandising and store operations, improving coordination and execution across the network. This provides a strong platform for the next phase of development, including the introduction of Al driven capabilities.
Dato' Gary Yap, Executive Director of Macro Value, said:
"This transformation strengthens Cold Storage's operating foundation as we position the business for the next phase of growth. A more integrated system allows us to operate with greater visibility, consistency and control across our network.
Cold Storage's previous system landscape relied on multiple platforms across ERP, store operations and point of sale, with a high degree of manual processes, particularly in forecasting and inventory planning. The new platform integrates these functions into a unified operating layer, enabling closer coordination between supply chain, merchandising and store execution."
Early improvements are already being observed at the store level, particularly in product availability and replenishment cycles, supported by better visibility and more consistent execution across the network.
Mr Lim Boon Cheong, Managing Director of Cold Storage Singapore, said:
"The transition was completed with minimal disruption to our operations. We are seeing early improvements in availability and replenishment, which supports more consistent execution across our stores. This gives us a stronger foundation as we continue to improve how we operate and serve our customers.”
The programme enters its second phase, building on the integrated foundation established in Phase 1. This stage will focus on strengthening capabilities across key retail functions by introducing Al-driven tools to support forecasting, inventory management and operational decision-making.
Mr Zhongwei Ren, Partner and Chief Strategy Officer of DMALL, said:
"Retail is becoming increasingly complex, with higher expectations around speed, precision and consistency. Our experience in China shows that large-scale system integration is a critical first step before Al can be effectively deployed.
The Cold Storage rollout demonstrates how an integrated data and systems foundation can be established at scale. In the next phase, we will introduce Al-driven capabilities across key retail scenarios, including forecasting, replenishment and store operations-to support more responsive and data-driven decision-making."
The Cold Storage deployment marks a further step in DMALL's expansion in Southeast Asia, a key growth region for the company. Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia are priority markets, where retailers are navigating increasing operational complexity and growing demand for more integrated, data-driven operating models.
The next phase of the collaboration will commence in June 2026, with further deployment into Cold Storage's convenience store network. The full programme is expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2027.
