On August 17, the MBA class of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (referred to as UCAS) visited DMALL, where they attended a wonderful and practical "big class" on business practice.
Firstly, Hao Chunqiang, Vice President of DMALL, taught the first lesson: "Retail Digital Transformation Practice: Exploring in Evolution". From the current situation of digitalization of physical retail in China to the three current development stages, and then to how digitalization helps physical retail solve practical problems, it proceeds from the shallower to the deeper and in a step-by-step manner, allowing students to quickly understand the overview of the digitalization of physical retail in China.
Subsequently, Hao Chunqiang shared practical case studies and received warm applause from the students. For example, the successful experience of Metro selling cherries on Douyin, and how the popular products of Pangdailai are sold nationwide. In addition, the digital applications in retail scenarios such as cashiering, display, replenishment, inspection, and loss prevention have sparked heated discussions among the students. They also actively thought about the exploration of digital transformation. How else can digitalization impact our lives? This is a profound thought-provoking question left by the teacher for the students.
The second class is "Thoughts on the Application of Generative AI" shared by Song Nan, the head of the AI business of DMALL, which describes the development trend of cutting-edge AI technologies and their practical implementation and exploration attempts in the retail field.
Song Nan shared that the foundation of the large model is digitalization, and the current applications are mainly concentrated in aspects such as AI assistants, process optimization, and digital employees. For example, AI customer service quality inspection and AI product discount clearance are all using the large model to replace manual inspection and discount decision-making, helping enterprises to better reduce costs and increase efficiency, and helping employees to work more scientifically, reasonably, and easily. Regarding the future of AI, everyone argues with an open and even "wild" attitude, hoping to explore more application scenarios and promote the true arrival of the AI era.
Before the start of the course, the UCAS MBA class also visited the Wumart Beijing Lianxiangqiao Store, Metro Beijing Sijiqing Store, DMALL AIoT Exhibition Hall and other places to gain an in-depth understanding of the role that digitalization and AI technologies play in the retail operation links. For example, the transition from paper price tags to electronic ones, and the picking and distribution process that enables home delivery orders to be achieved within 30 minutes. The students saw the back warehouse that they cannot usually enter, and further understood how a supermarket operates normally. The students unanimously praised this as a vivid and wonderful practical class!
